The stage is going to be filled again soon. This year's show, A Year With Frog and Toad, will be bringing some new faces and some returning faces to the stage. This year's cast has already started their rehearsals. Directors Erik Quam and Jamion Biesterfeld are working hard to bring this show and its cast to their greatest potential.
Quam said, “A Year With Frog and Toad is a charming show. Frog and Toad’s ‘adventures’ come in everyday activities, like trying to go swimming, make dinner, or rake leaves – yet everything Frog and Toad do is an expression of their friendship. The bonds these students are forming through the process of staging this musical elevate their storytelling and the audience’s enjoyment of it.”
This show was written by brothers Robert Reale (music) and Willie Reale (book and lyrics) and inspired by the Frog and Toad children's stories written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel. The main characters will be performed by junior Dayton Carlson as Frog and senior Easton Fiala as Toad. This show isn't just going to be 2 cast members but 26 in total, ranging from seniors to freshmen. This year's cast includes seniors Hailey Caughron (Bird and Turtle), Mya Stanley (Bird 2), Alyssa Thieman (Bird 3 and Mouse 4), Tanner Barry (Snail 2), Landon Voss (Snail 3), Breanna Wulf (Turtle 3), Emma Renner (Lizard), Evan Pierce (Lizard 2), Evan Schmieder (Squirrel 2), Peyton Thiele (Mole 2), and Paige Teller (Mole 4). The junior cast members include Jesse Reed (Snail), Jase Ostblom (Snail 4), Beatrice Quam (Mouse), Macee Kiss (Mouse 2), Coltyn Larson (Mole), Drezik Ahlers (Mole 3), and Tucker Buck (Mole 5). Sophomore performers are Kamdyn Olson (Bird 4), Zoey Powles (Bird 5), Kylie Gatson (Mouse 3), and Eliza Plucknett (Lizard 3). The freshmen are Jordan Trent (Turtle 3) and Micaiah Price (Squirrel 1).
But this show can’t run without the trusted crew, the ones who set the stage, make the sets, and do the makeup. The seniors are Shawn Kavanaugh, Finley Meisinger, Bella Kolvek, Connor Linke, Dylan Strong, and Allie Couron. Juniors helping with the show are Jager Barnes, Mikayla Bauer, Addison Bevins, Jack Haecke, Faith Hillabrand, Kelsey Haynes, Jacob Hrabik, Lincoln Heins, Kade Scholting, Savannah Smart, Parker Voss, Sophia Stohlmann, Holly Williams, Emery Stohlmann, Teghan Swenson, Lily Riha, and Carson Toelle. Sophomore crew members are Kastyn Anderson, Aubrey Barry, Mason Bateman, Blake Beck, Jack Boyle, Emma Couron, Whitney Haynes, Emily Muntz, Braxton Nebuda, Eli Nelson, Brylee Peterson, Sophia Sanders, Issac Clements, and Keegan Witte. Finally, freshmen Jayde Bender, Drew Carlson, Agnes Dukat, Kylie Hanson, Matilda Quam, and Rylie Sorenson wrap up the team.
All the young cast and crew members are excited about their new one-act family all together again, getting to step into their characters, and soon will be performing and competing once again.
