The golf team is one of the newest additions to Louisville Lion sports. The 2023-2024 season brought a lot of success to the Lions.
Sophomore Luke Downs said, “The season has been good except for some bad rounds.”
The golf team practices on 9-hole courses. They also practice at the hitting range. If it is raining they practice with wiffle balls in the gym. The team competes on a variety of courses.
Sophomore Mitch Shelsta said, “My favorite course is Quarry Oaks because it is very hilly and challenging.”
Some golfers can be very particular about the type of club, weather, wind, or color of their shirt, whereas others aren’t that particular.
Senior Gavin Pierce said, “My favorite club is my 60-degree wedge because I can hit it the best. She’s old but she’s a beauty.”
The team golfed a total of twelve courses throughout the season and won eight individual medals as well as runner-up at the Tekamah-Herman tournament.
