Ready for kickoff

The LHS football team is a team made up of family. Though they may not have won very many games, they still came out on top with friendships and bonds that can't be broken. The season of 23-24 had just begun, but a lot of students decided to join late.

Sophomore Tucker McCarthy explains his reasonings: "I’ve always loved football from a young age but didn’t know if I’d like high school ball.¨

Many people don’t understand or try something they’re afraid of. Head coach Mr. Shelsta also gives his insight. "It’s such a hard sport, but it takes a lot of dedication and work. The boys work for everything that they want and in the end they get results."

They might have missed out on some important information that could have been valuable to know at the beginning, but it all worked out because they learn quick and have the heart and drive to want to improve.

Timing is key to anything, yet with passion its never too late to do something. There are many pluses to joining any team weather that be on time or not.

¨I love seeing my friends and being able to connect with them on something we both found a love for,¨ said McCarthy.

Overall, it doesn’t matter how late or how early you join the sport, you can always end up with a great experience, bonds, and friendships.
