Screaming students at the Louisville volleyball games are causing this year's student section to be remembered. From a fifth grader doing a backflip to the Voss brothers chasing each other as cop and robber, it keeps students wanting more. Students come up with different creative outfits to match the theme, and their cheers bring the players motivation.

Junior Tanner Barry said, “Whether we win or lose, it is always a great time.”

The volleyball players get a first hand experience of the student section and all their enthusiasm.

Junior volleyball player WyLeigh Bateman said, “I like it when they cheer for us. It makes the game more fun.”

The cheering students help create a welcoming environment for anyone who's there, while showing Louisville pride. But there is one student who brings the most school spirit: junior Cody Lutz.

Lutz said, “I have always been an expressive person, and it's fun to be loud with my friends. Also I’m kinda known for having a wild reputation.”

The student section is filled with excited students wanting to watch their classmates and friends try their best with each set.

Sophomore Jager Barnes said, “I go to the game to see Kelsey Haynes.”

The students do more than just cheer for the volleyball players. They create a welcoming community.

Barry said, “I’m honestly trying to create a different culture. The culture the past few years hasn't been it. I want to set a good example for the younger generation.”

Lutz said, “I just go for the hype.”

Athletes react differently to the student section, but the student section isn't just affecting the players. It also brings together all the students and shows Louisville spirit.

Activity director Mr. Walker said, “I have been very impressed. I think people are maybe excited about not only just watch but being part of something.”
