Jamion Biesterfeld one of Louisville's one act coaches

Touch down! Three pointer! Homerun! These iconic phrases come from the super voices of announcers. At Louisville High School, Jamion Biesterfeld has been announcing for seven years, and with his time here he has learned that the most important thing about sporting events is the community. Jamion sees announcing as a way for him to contribute to the community.

He said, “Announcing was a way that I could make the events more exciting.”

One way Jamion steps up is by adding his comedic commentary to the events. Whether that be counting the trains that pass by during football games or shouting out the concession stand so that they can sell out faster.

Jamion said, “I was never a good athlete so I thought what are my skills, how can I help out?”

Compared to past years the student section has had the most school spirit ever, and students have been filling up the seats all the way to the back row. Games and events are where the whole community can get together.

Jamion said, “The atmosphere is electric.”

Fun fact Jamion’s favorite sport to watch is volleyball. He gets to hear everything from the refs, players, and the parents yelling in the away section. When everyone is cheering it shows support for those that have worked hard.

Jamion was asked to be an announcer, and after giving it a try he found out that he enjoyed it. Not only does he announce for Louisville, but he is also a one-act coach. With the impact Jamion gives to the school he could be considered a superhero, and as this hero would say, “Thanks for coming to the den.”
