There's a new leader of the Lion Pride in town. Mr. Kolin Haecker is the new superintendent of Louisville Public Schools. This is his fifth year as a superintendent; Haecker was a superintendent for four years at Bruning Davenport. Before coming to Louisville, he also taught at Weeping Water and Raymond Central.
Haecker said, “I got to meet people and coaches from Louisville and when the opportunity presented itself, I knew there were good people in Louisville, so why not work here?”
Haecker wants to provide as many opportunities for the students as possible. He also wants to be a good influence on the next generation. He is always roaming the halls, saying good morning to people, and always has a smile on his face. Haecker wants the students to be successful, and find what they are good at. From there, the students can decide what Louisville is known for.
Haecker also said that he wants to create the best opportunities for his teachers. He wants them to be the best possible teachers they can be, and in return, they can help the kids be successful.
Though Louisville is going through a bond and there is talk about Ag education, Haecker advised, “Even if we are trying to expand programs, we still need to provide the best opportunities for the students with what we have.”
Mr. Haecker is very much focused on the students, teachers, and facility. His vision is to help the students that are in the school now and then see what we can improve or do better for the next generation.
