The Louisville Elementary Library has just received a new mystery book, and her name is Mrs. Dimas. Mrs. Dimas is the para for the elementary library and one of the Louisville High School volleyball assistant coaches.
Growing up in a small town, Mrs. Dimas wanted to pass that experience to her kids. She said that living in a small town helped shape who she is today and wants her kids to have the same opportunities.
After having two kids of her own, Mrs. Dimas opened up a daycare. She was constantly around kids and she loved interacting with them. When her own children were old enough to be enrolled into school, she leaped at the chance to be a para. This experience would allow her to help out young students each day.
On top of helping kids, she wanted to help out with volleyball. Dimas decided to take on an assistant coaching job for the high school volleyball team.
Mrs. Dimas said, “I thought it would be a great opportunity to get back into the sport that I love so much.”
One of Mrs. Dimas’s greatest influences as a kid was her fourth grade teacher. If she was struggling with an assignment her teacher was always there for her and was the one person who took the time to help her when she needed it.
Mrs. Dimas said, “I want to learn, grow, and I want to give that to other students as well.” Being a Louisville para will definitely help her reach her dreams.
